Vintage hair at Flint

A while back I wrote about the beautiful Flint hair salon and how I was dying to go there. On Friday I went along to their vintage hair event. I dragged along my two friends Embo from the Swirly Face blog and Ali from Bunn The Baker.

There was some fantastic food provided by the Wholesome Grocer, the sandwiches in particular were rather amazing. We were handed champagne and the talks from Conor and Flamingo Amy got underway. It was great to meet Gemma from Retro Chick and she looked fantastic having her hair styled.

I’ve never learnt so much in such a short space of time, from why my pin curls went wrong (it all all to do with brushing them out) to what size curling tongs to use for different styles.

One of the top tips from the night would have to be crimping your hair to achieve a good amount of volume for a beehive. A hairdo that I will be trying very soon, it looks fantastic and has been all over the catwalk!

We also had some lovely little coffee shots provided by Window Coffee, which went lovely with the yummy sandwiches and (too much) sparkling wine.

I’m definitely going to be trying pin curls again as well as the beehive, I’m also going to buy myself some curling tongs.

Over all it was a truly fantastic night and even if Embo did have to leave Ali and I had the most fantastic time. I also booked myself in for a hair cut a colour as Conor truly is a master of his art.
