Trying things on because I can

When I went shopping last Saturday I decided to try something on from the Karen Millen concession in House of Fraser. Back when I was a size 18 and couldn’t fit into anything from the brand, I made it my goal to have something from there. I love the clothes, the sophisticated tailoring with a bit of colour and youth to it all. Back then I had my eye on a very bright, colour block dress. Alas, nothing like that in there now but my eyes did fall onto a navy blue and lace number.

I’d picked it up and carried it to the changing room before I’d ever looked at the price. £190. I was going to fall in love with a £190 dress, wasn’t I?

I did. The size 14 fit like a glove. I love the black and blue combo, those lace sleeves and that beautiful pleated skirt. It’s just screaming to be worn with black tights and high heels. I think if I wasn’t planning on losing more weight (and at least one more dress size) I would’ve bought this. I felt so amazing in it.

I also decided to try on something I wouldn’t normally. This time from Miss Selfridge. These dungarees didn’t look that great on the rack but I loved the look of them on. They’d be great for summer over a white vest top. I do look like I’m about to do some sort of manual labor, though. This was at the end of the shopping trip so I decided not to buy, the hundreds of pounds of new clothes I was carrying around was probably enough…
