The shopping experiment

I went shopping with my mum earlier this week and although I didn’t have any money to buy anything myself, I did try on a number of things. It’s good to try things you wouldn’t normally, it gives you an idea of the sorts of clothes that flatter you. Especially when the high street is changing regularly. There’s been an influx of palazzo trousers and baggy jumpers, two things I’ve never tried on before.

Wallis jumper

This jumper is from Wallis, I originally tried it on with beige skinny jeans (size 14, fit perfectly) but it didn’t look right. When I took them off I realised it looked quite awesome. I want to wear it with shorts or a little skirt and leggings. And my Batman Converse.

primark skirt

This was my outfit for the day.

Skirt: Primark | Top: H&M | Shoes: Primark (£5!) | Belt: Dorothy Perkins

Primark shoes

My mum bought me these amazing shoes. They were just five quid from Primark. My mum also bought a pair for herself. We are going out tonight and I wonder if we’ll end up wearing the same shoes!

Jarrold's Norwich

This embellished shoulder top was from the Jarrold’s (Norwich department store) outlet. This is the sort of thing I would normally wear but it was £45, hugely out of my price range at the moment. I think it looks super flattering though!

Debenhams Jumpsuit

You can’t really see how awesome this jumpsuit is. It’s definitely not something I would normally try on but I’ve never worn a jumpsuit before so it was worth a go. I look elegant and business-like. I’m not sure how I feel about the wide legs of the trousers but I love the shape with that little belt.

It’s from Debenhams and was £45.

We went to Bravissimo because my mum was looking for a dress. I mentioned the Pepperberry range at Bravissimo and how it would be perfect. I don’t have the boobs to be allowed to shop there but my mum does. The experience in there was fantastic. They have clothes sizes but each of those sizes come in different boob sizes.

There’s Curvy, Really Curvy and Super Curvy. It means that ladies with large boobs don’t have to go up dress sizes in order to accommodate their chests. Also, on the labels of all the dresses it says what sort of body shape they flatter. That’s amazing! That’s what a lot of women need. The staff are brilliant too.

Very impressed.

  1. That jumpsuit looks amazing! Hair up, cute earrings – what more could a girl need. Love your blog – just stumbled across it.

  2. Thank you! I actually wish I’d bought it but I’m not sure about the Palazzo legs. I’d prefer a slimmer leg, I think. I definitely need a jumpsuit in my life. Thanks for stopping by.
