Music is such a huge part of my life and a fantastic motivator when it comes to working out. I was challenged by PureGym to put together my perfect workout playlist so here I go! All of these songs are on my Spotify playlist here.
Workout music should be upbeat but it should also either mean something to you or have a fun fitness message. These songs are mix of old favourites from my teen years; new loves; and songs that make me want to sweat!
Every Inch of You – The Darkness
This song continues to be one of my favourites and the beat is perfect for a run. The lyrics to this song are (explicit) fantastic and whenever it comes on I can’t help but smile. It’s this kind of glee that spurs me on during a workout.
Dog Days are Over – Florence and the Machine
Any song that involves lyrics about running works for me but this song is perfect for my running tempo. The passion behind Florence’s voice is just epic and a wonderful motivator.
Beauty and a Beat – Justin Bieber featuring Nicki Minaj
I haven’t included the official video but instead the video that made me realise how amazing this song is. I’m not keen on Bieber’s vocals generally but Nicki Minaj and the wonderful way the beat drops just carries this song.
‘Till I Collapse – Eminem
Cause sometimes you just feel tired, feel weak
And when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up

World on Fire – Slash
Pure rock at its finest. Glittering guitar solos, vocals that you can’t help but sing along to and beat that will have you head banging in between sets at the gym.
Don’t Stop Movin’ – S Club 7
Keep moving, my childhood favourites say so!
Sexy Drug – Falling in Reverse
A sexy song that never fails to make me want to move, in one way or another. Good for those times when all you need is a good song that makes you dance.
Gettin’ Jiggy with It – Will Smith
A song you just can’t sit still to combined with a hefty dose of nostalgia. Perfect.
Fireball – Pitbull
A cheerful, upbeat song that never fails to get me wiggling, even if I’m in the gym or running…
Sk8er Boi – Avril Lavigne
What’s not to love about this song? It’s fun, has a great rhythm and reminds me of my skater girl days.
Bleed it Out – Linkin Park
Dig deep to this song and follow the beat as you run, it’s amazing. It’s also great for those heavy lifting sessions in the gym when you just need that extra little push to get through the final set/circuit.
