The Weekend

5 Oct

I went to the gorgeous Jupe at the weekend (www.jupe.org.uk) I was greeted with a glass of Champagne then worked my way through every rail (which is difficult with a glass in your hand) I had to restrain myself from buying everything in the store. It’s a seriously colourful, beautiful place. I ended up buying a coat (it’s purple) a plastic ring and a thin leopard belt for a total of £46 which is bargainous. I’ll be doing a full review later in the day including pictures.

I received so many goodies to review and they will be coming soon but can I just say Tommyguns hair products are wonderful! I did a whole FoTD on Friday then one on Saturday so will post those as soon as I get the pics sorted on my computer. My laptop charger is broken, again, so it is back to the beast of a PC for a while and it is so much more of a pain to upload photos to it.

So over the weekend I visited my family 20 miles away in North Norfolk. I returned with:

  • Three new coats – One purple one from Jupe, One faux fur one given to me by Nick and Karen and a checkered one from Next given to me by Ben’s Mum.
  • One Leopard belt from Jupe
  • One Ring from Jupe
  • My £18 vintage dress that was delivered to my Mum’s that looks awful.

A box of Ben’s stuff that he had when he was a kid. Which contains loads of autographs of racing drivers which is pretty cool.

I’m contemplating stretching my ear up a few more sizes, I got a double flared plug off EBay that fits lovely, it would just look better if it were bigger.

There it is 8mm – my last one was 10mm.
I’m thinking of going to 14mm.

Below is a sneak peak of me having used Elemental Beauty, Korres, Tommy Guns, Lily Lolo and Purity products in my FoTD.

Today I had the pleasure of going out on a photoshoot with the delightful Alex Sheppard, she is an Anti-folk superstar, and I have to say I’m quite a fan. These photos mark her signing with Jigsaw House, if you wish to listen to her gorgeously quirky lyrics and brilliant guitar playing then you can do so over at: www.myspace.com/alexsheppard

Jigsaw House Presents…
Alex Sheppard

In a musical world full of manufactured bands and boring indie, Alex is an anti-folk princess with quirky lyrics and catchy riffs that are a welcome relief to music fans. Originally from Norwich but now living in London, Alex is now kicking up a storm with music fans, venues and industry professionals between the two cities. With London gigs planned between now and the end of the year Alex is sure to continue this success.

Her musical career has gone from strength to strength after being a finalist in the Eastern Daily Press’s Next Big Thing Competition in 2006 and then spending a year busking around Europe and playing with a ladyboy cabaret band in Thailand. More recently, she has played Latitude festival, opened for ex-Libertines frontman Carl Barat’s band Dirty Pretty Things and has been featured in NME magazine.

2009 has seen Alex featured on a variety of BBC Radio shows from Steve Lamaq to Huw Stephens to Zane Lowe, who praised her “great lyrics” and declared himself a fan. With her uniquely real style of music, quirky character and absolute musical passion, she is certainly an artist to keep your eye on over the next eighteen months.
