THIS is my dream chair. The style is totally vintage but the skull pattern is totally modern, brilliant and edgy. NEED

After Ben and I have been to America we are going to seriously start saving for a deposit on a house. 2 years we think it will take us. Not sure I can wait that long. But the point is that I’m itching to buy beautiful things to go in my home.
A lot of my job entails trawling through home interest magazines. I love doing it but I find it really hard not to read every bloody article. I thought I’d put together a little list of things that I can’t afford (yet) but desperately want.

Beatrice bed from the Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Company. A super king 6″0 bed is £874
These beds and made in Norfolk. Supporting local business and all, I believe I should get one.

Wesley-Barrell Oxford Modular sofa – From £3910

Firstly, these are images I saved ages ago and I can’t for the life of me remember where they are from. If these happen to be your pictures. Tell me and I will credit/take down. Sorry.
So, onto the inspiration.

I’m a really messy person so the more storage the better. Also, between us, Ben and I have huge amounts of books and notebooks. I also love the cute cuddly toys and boxes on some of the shelves. I think these particular shelves are from Ikea.

I love the dark walls, darker skirting boards – creates the illusion of space – and the red carpet. It looks all romantic and brooding. That red mirror is so striking. This would be a hall I’d be happy to walk into. You know what, I’d just love to have a hall. Our current, terraced, house is

I have this vision, in the house we will eventually own, for black and white interiors but with the odd colour accent. So, bright cushions, colourful picture frames and striking vases. I don’t know how Ben will feel about that because he’s all about the modernness. I also want loads of antiques…

These cushions are so cute. Ben’s tastes differ so much from my own. He hates cushions and I agree they don’t add comfort to a soft. However, they look pretty as hell. He might come around to these though, the retro geek in him may approve. Not that he’ll have much choice, if I want them I’ll buy them. The grey ones would go beautifully with a black/white scheme.

From Beware the Moon
You can’t beat anything piratey. I’d love one wall in the house, probably in the computer room, to be covered in this stuff. It’s dark, swashbuckling and shiny.

Once again onto storage. My bed side table is a small one drawer thing. The The one drawer is filled with papers, empty boxes, jewellery, coins and loads of other stuff. I just shove stuff in there to get rid of it. The top is then covered with important things such as pens, my phone, makeup, jewellery, pictures etc. A tall bedside cabinet, shelving system like the one above would solve all my problems. Plus it would match unlike our current bedside table set up.

Want, want, want. I need a colourful inspriing place to work. Our current layout in the computer room is cramped and dull. Ben and I have our computers on one large desk but a 22inch monitor and a 19inch monitor plus and printer and all my shit (makeup, jewellery etc – again) makes for a very cramped space. The reintroduction of a laptop into my life sort of means I don’t have to deal with it but I would like to clear our other desk (under the America map) to have a lamp and some space for the new laptop.
I do intend to stick lots of pretty things on the walls in the coming weeks. Maybe it’ll help my writers block.
