The ultimate summer roadtrip wardrobe

I’m going to America in June so I’m always thinking about what to wear, do and see whilst I am there.

The list of places we are traveling to is as follows:

Chicago, IL, Kalamazoo, MI, Windsor, ON, Toronto, ON, Niagara Falls, ON, Wellsboro, PA, NYC, NY, Washington DC, Charlottesville VA, Cherokee National Park, VA, Knoxville, TN, Daniel Boone Park, KY, Indianapolis, IN, Chicago.

I’m hopefully going to be between 1.5 stone and 2.5 stone lighter when we go. That’s between 14st (196lbs) and 13st (182lbs). So I’ll be able to wear shorts and skirts and things thinner people wear. At the start of the journey we’ll be travelling round cities then the second half of the trip we’ll being doign lots of driving and visiting valleys, mountains, natural bridges and national parks. I’m going to use my beloved ASOS and maybe a bit of Polyvore to put together a list of items I’ll need to take.

Evil Twin Denim Studded Shorts – £80

Shorts are very important in the summer and these ones would be versatile enough to wear with trainers, boots or sandals.

French connection floral tea dress – £65

A simple summery dress that can be dressed up or down depending on your location is a must-have!

ASOS stripe dress – £26

Although it may be summer not everywhere will be super warm, especially at night time. You also have to think about what you are going to wear if you decide to go for a trek in the under growth.

ASOS ski pant legging – £12

Leggings tend to be more sturdy than tights. Wear with boots if you decide to go for a bit of a hike.

Stretchy Levi Skinny Jeans – £90

Always take a good pair of versatile jeans. You can dress these up with heels for any bars you go into. Or you can be super comfy in them with trainers.

ASOS Bandeau Top – £12

A strapless top is important if you want to get a tan without pesky tan lines.

Blowfish Boots – £45

A little pair of canvas boots will be easier to walk around on uneven ground than in flip flops.

Good flip flops for summer chic!

Glitter Rocket Dog trainers – £30

Shiny trainers are a must in anyone’s life…

ASOS Floral Holdall – £28

A big bag that you can put all your clothes, makeup, cameras, accessories and makeup in is much more preferable than a huge ugly suitcase.

Also don’t forget the essentials such as sunglasses, hats, underwear, jumpers, cardigans and t-shirts!
