We’ve been looking back at some of the catwalks shows that signal the coming trends of the 2018 spring summer season. Here are some hair and beauty trends you can try out this year.
As seen at Armani and Tadashi Shoji shows, this is a really easy look to recreate. Add pops of sea-inspired colours to your eye makeup for a mermaid feel. The easiest way would be to grab a bright turquoise eye pencil and line your lower water line. Keep lashes pale and don’t be afraid to add some shimmer.
I’m so excited about this trend. It’s been seen all over the place, including at Ashish, Ralph and Russo, Alberta Ferretti and Topshop. There are plenty of ways you can up your glitter game. The easiest is with a smudge of the stuff in the inner corners of your eyes. However, if you want to take things to the next level, don’t shy away from full glitter eye-makeup, or perhaps a little on your cheeks in place of highlighter.
Erdem models were seen wearing low ponytails tied with simple chiffon bows. This is a really lovely trend that works well in the office as well as out on the town.
Pixie cuts were seen at Tom Ford and Moschino as well as on our very own Nell Walker, who has been rocking this style for years. If you’re going to make a drastic change to your hair, I’d suggest looking at top London hairdressers such as Top1One.
The hair clip revival is here, as shown by Miu Miu, Versace and many more. Think back to 90s headbands and slides, with a modern twist of jewels and sparkles. Look out for big statement clips you can use in a range of different styles.
The modern cat eye
The cat eye look is evolving. There were a number of designers doing interesting things with this classic look, including thumb prints, big wings and statement blacks. Experiment with a black liner and try different shapes, angles and styles to see what suits you.
Every woman who loves that laid back relaxed look will breathe a sigh of relief at this. Whether you’re the type of person who spends hours crafting the perfect beach babe look or someone who just covers their hair in a spritz of salt spray, this look is going to be everywhere.
School girl plaits
We’re inspired by the Winter Olympics and the cool ski and snowboard ladies rocking their plaits. This is also a look that’s been seen on the cat walks. Go for a simple standard plait or sling it to thr side and over one shoulder for effortless cool.
Nell and I are at home here! Bright colours are everywhere this spring summer, as seen here on these Richmond models, so break out your most colourful eyeliners, lipsticks and eye shadows and get ready to experiment. You will definitely see me wearing this look with a hefty helping of glitter for good measure.
