In ‘a celebration of British glamour’ Coast has teamed up with the V&A to create a collection of dresses inspired by the V&A’s archive collection.
I was lucky enough to be invited along to the photo shoot for the gowns. I journeyed down to London and met with the lovely Sherin from The Hi Fashion Site. We then headed to Coast HQ and into the photography studio to see the collection get shot.
I was blown away by how beautiful the dresses were. They were so floaty and feminine.
The Cecily dress was being photographed when we got there. It’s a beautiful floor-length silvery satin gown with an amazing open back. The shape and style are reminiscent of the twenties/thirties. I actually didn’t think it could get better from there.
I had my eye on the grey Phoebe dress; the shape of it looked stunning. I love the tight strapless bodice with the texture of the full skirt.
The Patience dress was something more like a wedding gown being crafted from white silk with gorgeous crystal details.
Then there were the two shorter dresses, unfortunately I had to head off to catch my train so I only got to see the green Blanche dress being photographed. This is more of a prom gown but has a very distinct fifties style to it.
I left the shoot with some lovely shots of my own and a desire to swish around in a ball gown all evening. (Something I did get to do at Norwich Fashion Week recently.)
The dresses will be hitting Coast stores this month and will start at £450. Perfect if you have a ball or prom to go to and want to be the one that takes everyone’s breath away.
