The 500byGucci

2 Jun

Fiat has teamed up with Gucci to celebrate two special anniversaries. 150 years since the unification of Italy and Gucci’s 90th birthday!

Together the two Italian superbrands have produced the Fiat 500 by Gucci.

It’s a stunning little car at the best of times but with the design by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini, in partnership with Fiat’s Centro Stile, it’s going to look as beautiful as ever.

I own a Fiat Punto so I’m a huge fan of the brand. The sleek lines of the Italian cars are beautiful, they drive well and my little Punto has the ever-useful city drive. I’d be lost without it.

Every time I see a Fiat 500 I wonder if maybe I should trade in for something that zippy and cute. The 500byGucci will be available in the UK with two engine specification choices: the nimble yet economical 1.2 litre – which will cost £14,565 OTR – and the award-winning 0.9 litre TwinAir, priced at £15,765 OTR.

Generally I look for a little more zoom in cars (although my Punto is a 1.2l) but the 500byGucci is so small and light that even a 1.2 engine is going to give it some go!

Initially the new car will be available exclusively online, and is another example of Fiat’s use of e-commerce to sell vehicles, having already enjoyed success with cars such as the special edition Fiat 500 Pink and Fiat 500 Matt Black. The fully automated on-line sales scheme allows customers to pay a deposit, order it directly from the factory, track the car’s progress, make a final payment and even arrange special delivery of the car to their home. Customers will be able to visit www.fiat.co.uk/500bygucci when it goes live later this month.

The upside the it only be available online at first is the fact that you don’t have to spend hours sitting around a Fiat dealership to fill out paper work and to be up sold on stuff.

Look at those beautiful curves. I actually prefer the white. I just think it’s more… Gucci.

Designer clothes from My Wardrobe

7 Apr

http://www.my-wardrobe.com/ is a treasure trove of beautiful, quality designer women’s clothing. All of which have me swooning. Take a look at a few pieces I’ve picked out below. Serious WANT.

Paul & Joe Botanical Print Dress – £1015

This makes me think vintage. Flowing, bright, floral, delicious. Probably one of the most expensive things I’ve ever listed on here but if I had the money then I would. Wow, wow, wow.

Vivienne Westwood Anglomaina Ariana Dress – £245

Stripey and Vivienne Westwood, what more could you want in a dress. Team with a red blazer and some wedges for a summery nautical look.

Milly Valentina Honeymoon in Venice Dress – £437

The yellow belt really sets this off. It’s so girlie and a beautiful shape. Perfect for summer with some bright yellow, patent flats!

Acne Navy Blue Smith Suede Jacket – £720

Dear god, this jacket is everything I need in my life. Zips, navy, slightly bikery.

Camilla Skovgaard Black Hammer Studded Sandals – £380

I’m slowly forming an obsession with Camilla Skovgaard shoes. These are utterly divine, that shape! I love the quirkiness of these shoes. The fact that I’d never be able to walk in them is besides the point.

House of Harlow 1960 Black Pearl Peeptoe – £192

The shape of these makes me swoon. That beautiful, high, thick heel.

MCQ Alexander McQueen Chain Belt – £215

This might be here because of an in joke that none of you will get. But MCQ, instant love from me.

For all the mothers out there

10 Mar

I was recently approached by Frugi to write about their breastfeeding clothes, while the clothes are completely irrelevant to me at this point in my life, I did take a look. I thought some of these clothes were too cute not to include. I also feel like I should cater more for those who don’t have my height/shape/weight/budget/circumstances.

In the same way that I’m often tempted to buy maternity clothes, this dress is gorgeous. Knee length, crossover, flattering. Its shape will also enhance those curves leaving you feeling like a truly yummy mummy indeed.

The site also sells breastfeeding tops.

It’s the same pattern as the dress above, but I love it. I was under the impressing that any sort of practical post-baby wear had to be frumpy. These items aren’t and I’m glad I know this now (for future reference and all that). So, to all the mummies out there, be beautiful and don’t be afraid to dress up. You also can’t tell that any of the items on the site are designed to make breastfeeding easier, I think that’s a good thing. Your style doesn’t have to be compromised by obvious folds, flaps and ugly colours!

BaByliss Hair

3 Mar

After going to the vintage hair event at Flint I’ve become a bit obsessed with trying to style my hair into something other than ‘however it falls after I’ve washed it’. So I appear to be the owner of various heat styling products. Hair syling has never been my forte, I’m happy to dye it, wash it, have it cut, maybe do a bit of back combing but that’s that.

So, when I do want my hair super curly or bigger than usual the tools I look for are ones that are going to make my life as easy as possible. When it comes to vintage styling techniques like pin curls, the idea excites me but I’m too impatient to wait around in curlers all day. I want my hair fix almost instantly and this is where BaByliss products come in.

Here’s a little review of one I want and one I own.

BaByliss Big Hair

This would be perfect for creating big, bouncy hair. The brush rotates on its own, so there’s minimal effort involved. It looks like it would be great to create a very 70′s look or also for creating volume before whacking your hair up into a big on trend beehive.

It’s easy to create a sleek look without any flyway strands (like you’d get when using a round brush and hair dryer). The BaByliss Big Hair lifts at the roots and depending on if you use it on your hair wet or dry it’ll also give it a bit of a wave at the ends.

BaByliss Curling Wand

I got this for Christmas and while I struggled with it at first I soon realised that it is perfect for creating loose curls. Use it on the ends of your hair to create a messy beach look. Style your hair in soft waves, pop on a floral dress and some flip flops. A very chic summer look.

It takes a lot of getting used to, you have to wear a little heat protective glove so you don’t burn yourself (so do your nails after your hair) and you have to hold it at an odd angle. But, unlike curling tongs, you don’t get that weird kink where you’ve grabbed onto your hair. The result is smooth and rather effortless curls.
