OOTD: Featuring Messeca shoes

1 Apr

IMG_3126

This is a dress by Max C that I won through a Gem Fatale blog comp. At least a year ago. I gave this and the other I won to my mum as they were in her size. She told me she didn’t like them. On Friday she gave them back to me. This one is amazing. The back is really low but then had a bit you tie around the bra line. It’s gorgeous, although definitely one for a strapless bra.

The shoes are new and LOVELY. They are Messeca. Pony hair. Wedge. Leopard print. Slightly too big. I love them. They are a little over my threshold for high shoes though so let’s see how I fare if I ever dare to wear them out.

That’s my mum’s kitchen. We house sat over the weekend. Here are some more photos of the weekend’s adventures.

We took Frankie Dog for a long walk around the woods. Highlights were seeing a fox hunting in a meadow, my superb balance, some great geocaches and almost stopping the hound from going in every muddy puddle. That walk combined with 4 miles on the beach on Friday equals sleepy pup.

I also had the pleasure of meeting/feeding/cuddling my mum’s new chickens.

OOTD: Featuring shoes from FYFO

16 Mar

The gorgeous FYFO got in touch with me to ask if I’d like to review a pair of their shoes. I jumped at the chance, I’d see the website and they stock all manner of lovely footwear.

While I really wanted to go for something high-heeled and impractical, I went with the more conservative black boot. Recently I’ve been finding that I have nothing warm and comfortable to wear with nice dresses. I was resorting to heels (bad for my running injury) or fluffy toning boots (as it turns out, also bad for my joints).

TUK boots

They’re look a little bit like DMs, I suppose, but they’re a bit less clunky and the pattern is cute and feminine. I intend to wear them to the pub tonight but here is how I wore them last week.

Shoes: T.U.K Black Velvet Doily Ankle Boots c/o FYFO – Skirt: New Look – Top: Dorothy Perkins via eBay – Cardigan: New Look

FYFO

Firstly, apologies for my hair. I have since had it cut. I knew it was looking a little straggly but that really shows you just how bad it had got. Secondly, apologies for sequin lens flare and the bad pics.

Anyway, I would highly recommend taking a look at FYFO for your next pair of shoes, they have a huge selection and I’m very pleased they chose me as I love my new boots. They’ve been a lifesaver over the last week or so and are definitely my new go-to shoes.

Weight loss progress. July ’11 to March ’12

6 Mar

Firstly, apologies for the awfulness of these pictures they are hastily taken in the mirror but they give a good idea of the weight I’ve lost!

The first image was taken just before I started going to a personal trainer last year. The second image is the result of a lot of hard work. It was taken today! 2.5 stone gone since then, that’s about 4 stone in total since I started to lose weight in April 2009! Amazing how exercise speeds up the process.

I’m really proud of myself but I still feel like there’s a long way to go.

The outfit is of little interest, I suppose, but in case your are interested… In the March picture I’m wearing River Island jeans in a size too big and a Dorothy Perkins tank top. Now accessorised with Batman converse and my River Island sheep cardigan (not pictured).

New dress from Boozt

5 Mar

The dress is Vila and the shoes – which will be getting a whole post of their own – are Friis & Company.

I’d never heard of Boozt until recently when they contacted me asking if I’d like to review a couple of items. The site is very easy to use and they have some amazing brands like French Connection and Day Birger et Mikkelsen. I spent ages trying to find something pretty to wear for our house warming party. I had every intention to buy something French Connection but nothing was grabbing me so I turned my sights to all the other dresses on the site.

When I found this dress I liked it but it was nothing compared to how it looks and feels on. It might be a bit low cut but that could be remedied with a simple top underneath. Weight loss-wise, I don’t think I would’ve been able to buy much from the site 4 stone ago but now the world is pretty much my oyster (although that applies to most clothes shops).

Boozt.com is an easy website to navigate with a good range of clothes in a very wide range of prices.

Below are a few more items I really love. Click the picture to be taken to the product page…
