Retro dresses from Boohoo
There’s some amazing pieces on Boohoo.com at the moment. Particularly the dresses. Here’s some of my top picks. I’m particularly loving the retro vibe with some of the brand’s new pieces.
The waist detail of the dress is stunning. It’s simple and understated but there’s an elegance to it. I love the monochrome with the polka dots. Beautiful.
The lace panel in the dress is beautiful. It also comes in red.
I think this is the most beautiful dress I’ve seen in a long time. The colours are perfect for Spring and the length is great. It would look lovely with tights during this transitory period.
OOTD – 60th Party
Not my 60th, mind you.
Skirt: Select – £6 | Top: New Look – £2 | Shrug: Dorothy Perkins – £12 | Necklace: Dorothy Perkins | Shoes: M&S – £35 | Scarf: Zara – £10
It was my Dad’s 60th birthday last week and we had a nice little party, complete with disco and nibbles at our local pub. It was a wonderful night full of catching up and a lot of dancing. Benj and I also revisted TVRs (Tequila, Vodka, Redbull) for the first time in seven years. Mistake.
Makeup without the lipstick
About 5 Jack Daniels and Diet Cokes into the evening…
Style – I’m every woman
I love before and afters on everything. Seeing someone before and after weight loss is hugely motivational, I love makeover shows for both people and homes and I have a love for all things style. This video hits all my buttons.
Some of these shows can be a little trashy but they are easy watching that can actually teach you quite a lot. Watching shows where a person gets a makeover can teach you a lot about shopping for your body shape, how a new hair style can change your whole look and what sort of clothes really update your wardrobe.
Since buying a house I’ve been more interested in the home makeover shows. Interior style is my new passion and I’m somewhat obsessed with seeing some dated and ugly be transformed into something glitteringly modern and functional.
It’s the little tips I like. For example, how a coat of paint in a light colour can instantly refresh a room and make it appear larger. How lamps and lights can be used to create space and how to transform a boring book case into something special with just some paint and clever positioning.
I actually think my fashion obsession came from watching What Not To Wear all those years ago. As a kid that hammered clever dressing tips into my head and I’m still known as the go-to-girl for fashion dilemmas!
All opinions are my own – this was a sponsored post.
A good start to the New Year
I’m not really bothering with resolutions this year. Basically I want to be rich and thin and am taking steps to make that happen.
I jumped (stepped carefully) onto the scales this morning and it showed 183 lbs. That’s 13 stone 1 lb! Wow. That’s all the Christmas weight, plus some, lost. Eating well (read: low calories) and painting a house is the secret to weight loss, who would’ve known!
Here’s my Christmas Eve outfit for a meal out with friends. The skirt was a bargain from Quiz, the top from George at ASDA, years ago and the shoes are my beloved JCs from Zalando.
OPI nails. Owl necklace from TopShop. Mayan zodiac necklace by Dad brought me back from Mexico (new favourite necklace!).
The coat was given to me by Ben’s mum. No idea of the brand or where it’s from!
