Complete shoe love

30 Oct

I get obsessed about shoes rather easily. I was just browsing today when I came across these. Shiny,b lack brogues. I’d had my eye on some shiny silver ones but there’s only so much silver goes with. These are so much better. They are glittery, elegant and have a slightly more masculine shape than most brogues I’ve seen.

These are Ras Atima shoes and I need them in my life. They are a somewhat reasonable £111. My problem with brogues is that I have no idea what to wear them with. Chinos? I need some ankle length skinnies to go with these, really.

Or they’d look fantastic with a simple shift dress and colourful woolen tights. Great for this transistory period in the seasons. Unless, of course, you are in America in which case it might be very snowy and brogues won’t e doing you much good.

If it is snowy/there’s weather, you need these!

These are Metamorphose Hatami boot. They are zebra flavour!

Bloggers for Health – Week 2

29 Oct

I found out about this last week and was actually quite excited by the prospect. A lot of my life revolves around being healthy and losing weight. In fact it’s the reason I started this blog!

I missed week one so I’m going to incorporate that here. Week one was to talk about goals and week two was to talk about my personal work out plan. Here we go.

Goals

  • To lose weight. Ultimately to be somewhere around 10 stone.
  • To run a 5k in under 30 minutes
  • To be fitter
  • To look better
  • to be bendier
  • To be able to shop anywhere

Workout plan

Running – I’m currently doing the C25K. I’m about to start week three and I’m already seeing improvements in my stamina. I do my 3k route about 3 times a week. Occasionally with a 5k run thrown in there too. Running is my only regular exercise. Everything else gets thrown in there to spice up my routine.

Personal Training – I have a personal trainer I’m supposed to go to once a week. With buying a house this isn’t really happening and the sessions about once every two weeks. These are hour long strength and cardio sessions that hurt like hell. Since starting with my PT in July I’ve lost 2 stone.

Walking – The boyf and I go geocaching occasionally. These are 4-9km walks around the countryside doing essentially what is treasure hunting. There’s no regularity to this but we need to do more.

30 Day Shred/Yoga/Pilates – If I’m not feeling a run or want to boost my workout routine I’ll pop on a short workout video and will do that. Did one session of the 30 Day Shred earlier this week and I still ache from it!

The sexiest knee-high boots

28 Oct

I think knee-high boots are a must for winter. Here are some of my faves.

Now SeisiaGeox mendi

This first skull-encrusted boot is beautiful. It’s not so dainty that it looks like it would fall apart at the first sight of rain and snow. These are tough boots by NOW

The second boot is the Geox Mendi Stivali, a bit more of the classic riding boot. They are made of beautiful, shiny leather and would look great over jeans or with a dress.

Levis bootsAsh scott boots

These Levi’s Yale boots are spectacular. Weathered leather, a big buckle and a chunky sole. Wonderful!

And finally these are the Ash Scott boots. They are a little bit rock and roll and, you can’t see it in this picture, they have a zip that runs all the way from the heel to the top of the boot!

Guest Post: Must-have fashion this winter

26 Oct

Even though the winter is approaching with cold, dark days, it doesn’t mean we have to feel depressed. It’s time for us ladies to do some serious shopping for jeans, bags, shoes and coats in order to stay up-to-date with the latest winter fashion trends! Check out these four items that I picked!

(1)   Levi’s Bold Curve ID Black Skinny Jeans by ASOS, £85.00

(2)   Pieces Herdis Leather Box Bag by ASOS, £100.00

(3)   Faux Fox Fur Coat by ASOS, £70.00

(4)   Irregular Choice Miaow shoe boot with cat motif by ASOS, £109.00

I always love to buy a new pair of black jeans because they go with everything! These Levi’s Bold Curve black pair of jeans are only £85.00 and are made from denim featuring a bold curve fit. Bold Curve honours real curves and embraces the female body, hugging the waist without gaping or pulling. So if your jeans normally fit your bottom but then gape at the back and feel tight in the thigh, try one of these jeans because they fit perfectly!

I also picked out this Pieces Herdis leather bag because I like the colour and the it’s made from soft leather (which equals good quality). This bag has a zip fastening at the top, contrast stitch seam detailing with a slim box-shaped main and zip pockets to the interior. The two twin grab handles can definitely carry some weight which is great as I always put a lot of stuff in my bag(s).

If you like fur (I do!) then I would recommend this faux fox fur coat. Don’t worry, it is not real fur as ASOS wants fashion to be cruelty free and does not allow the use of real fur or endangered animal skin in their products. Fake fur looks just as nice and is certainly a lot cheaper!

Finally, I picked out these irregular choice miaow boots – aren’t they stunning? I saw them and immediately fell in love with them because they stand out and look great underneath the black pair of skinny jeans. These boots are also made from leather and feature a shaped cut to the ankle, giving them a very edgy look!
